The BOF Principle (Behavioural Optimizing Food)
Behavioural Optimizing Food (BOF) is the principle of restoring the dog's natural diet. In practice, it keeps the dog's blood sugar stable, the high content of fresh meat stimulates the instincts, the low cooking temperature preserves nutritional value, berries, seeds and herbs are similar to the contents of the prey's stomach, and the size of the pieces ensures that the meal is always chewed and not swallowed whole.
First Bag of ESSENTIALS?
Welcome! With the first bag, a lifestyle change begins regarding diet. You can start to gradually introduce ESSENTIAL over 4-7 days or completely from day one. The most important thing is to adjust the daily feed amount to suit your dog. The common mistake is not reducing the total feed amount enough.
The first week you can expect that the dog has a little extra air in the intestines. This is because dogs, like humans, react to dietary changes. Defecation is in the same amounts, but may be a bit softer. Overfeeding will result in softer stools.
TIP!! Start by feeding your dog 10% less than usual and simply adjust the amount if needed.
Use the first 2-3 weeks to find the right feed amount. When the stools are firm and your dog has a satisfactory level of satiety, you've found the right feed amount.

Storage Recommendations
We recommend using the ESSENTIAL the FOOD BOX. The food should be stored in a cool, dry place (5-18 °C); away from direct sunlight and in an air tight container. This will ensure the last meal tastes as good as the first.
A few words and advice for particularly picky dogs
Most dogs can not withstand the taste of ESSENTIALS. However, it can happen that they do not eat up. This is not because they are picky eaters, but because ESSENTIALS gives a different feeling of satiety. The dog is naturally saturated. If your dog is very picky, try pouring some warm water over the feed or stirring one to two tablespoons ESSENTIAL OMEGA 3 OIL in the feed.
